UM Experience
Preference given to those that have successfully completed at least two semesters as an Undergraduate Mentor (UM).
Practical Applications
The ability to use and apply computational tools to solve real world problems.
Training Session
Can attend a mandatory training session the Sunday afternoon before classes begin (for the given semester).
Time Commitment
Can commit to at least 10 hours of work per week through the semester. Opportunities for additional hours are periodically available.
Teaching Duties
Will be a primary lab instructor for one lab and function as a secondary lab instructor for a second lab.
Study Sessions
Attending one study session per week.Other DutiesGrading, emailing, and other responsibilities as needed.
Highly Articulate
Must have strong language and communication skills (oral and written).
Academic Standing
Must be at least sophomore class standing, and is in good academic standing with the University (minimum 3.0 GPA).
I101 Excellence
Successfully completed INFO I101/H101 with at least a B in the course.
Employment Eligibility
Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Recommendations
Provide at least two recommendations. They may not be from a faculty course instructor, and only one may come from a current UI.
