Respect and Climate

The course adheres to all University policies, but has a few additional ones that may differ from other courses.

Respect

We have a zero tolerance policy for any harassment, disrespectful behaviors, and the like.

Inside the Classroom

We expect that students in the classroom, whether a lecture or lab session, are respectful of themselves, one another, and the instructors.

Outside the Classroom

Your life and actions outside of this class have the potential to influence your success in this course. Staying healthy is a shared responsibility among us all. We will make every effort to accomadate students dealing with illness in this course; in order for us to do that, students must do their part to keep themselves and everyone else in the course healthy. Do not come to class when you are sick.

To each of you: peer pressure is a powerful force that can hamper our best intentions. Make a comittment to yourself now and set a precedent with your peers that you take your health and the health of those around you seriously. It only takes one asymptomatic person to transmit the virus.

Land Acknowledgement

We wish to acknowledge and honor the Indigenous communities native to this region, and recognize that Indiana University Bloomington is built on Indigenous homelands and resources. We recognize the Miami, Delaware, Potawatomi, and Shawnee people as past, present, and future caretakers of this land.

Beyond our campus, we acknowledge and honor the Indigenous communities across the country and around the world on whose homelands and resources the physical infrastructure of our digital world is built.
